Engagement Ring Styles in This Year

New wedding fashion this year – what is it? Like love, it erases all restrictions in its path. Wedding fashion is stunning with colorful inlays and unusual shapes. As if this is how designers try to compensate for the transience of time, behind the scenes urging lovers to live life brightly and richly.

Newlyweds strive for originality in organizing weddings, and designers encourage this in every possible way. The desire for individuality has grown into a kind of cult in clothing and accessories. It would seem that designers combine the incompatible: vintage classics and street casual, gold and silver, uneven textures and perfect ergonomics. Engagement rings are no longer just jewelry to represent your marital status. Today, every detail of the ring has a special symbolism that tells about you and your love story.

Europeanization

Fans of comfort need not worry – the classic “European” does not lose its relevance, especially in Europe. Simplicity with functionality and practicality, which Europeans value so much, remains in jewelry trends.

The rounded “European” is a universal option in the classics. Landing Comfort fit makes the wedding band as light and imperceptible on the finger as possible. The undeniable advantage is that the product sits securely and does not cut into the skin.

Wedding rings “Europeans” are great for decoration: they are complemented by a floral pattern, figured notches, as well as small stones. It is noteworthy that the drawing is made not only on the outer, but also on the inner side of the ring. This gives the product an additional intrigue.

Trendy wedding rings this year: classic

Rings made of yellow and red gold with diamonds remain popular. Jewelry brands have picked up the trend for sophisticated classics and offer to combine it with other jewelry on one finger, making the outfit exclusive. It can be traditional romance of yellow / red gold and white metals, complemented by circular inlay, weaving, as well as minimalism in various variations:

  • Very thin rings, almost invisible, with significant symbols (small knot, heart, infinity sign);
  • Split models with a specific symbol (heart, flower, neutral geometry) at one end;
  • Double / double models, as well as rings in the form of weaving;
  • Paired, where one engagement ring is a continuation of the other.

Uncut stones, dark metals, vintage, gold with blackening prevail in men’s rings. Also at the peak of popularity are black-plated gold jewelry made of rhodium, titanium and carbon.

Wedding rings are a symbol of your love. Until the end of your life, they will remind you of the closest and dearest person you were lucky enough to meet. Therefore, this piece of jewelry must be just perfect and unique.

Many world-famous jewelry brands, understanding the importance and symbolic meaning of the engagement ring, are ready to present the newlyweds with a wide variety of wonderful options.

Tiffany & Co wedding rings

The Tiffany bartack is a type of prong bartack. It has six special teeth designed to increase the brilliance of the diamond and achieve maximum light output.

Wedding rings of this brand have been holding leading positions in the world lists of jewelry houses for more than 200 years. The company offers a wide range of not only wedding, but also engagement rings. Among the most famous models there are both products made in a classic style and original rings that combine the most non-standard solutions. The most elite wedding rings from Tiffany are Princess Cut and Tiffany Embrace.

Bezel Setting

It is the earliest method of setting gemstones in jewelry. In the old days, such rings were made, about restoring a hole or slot in the ring with an edge that folded over when the stone was inserted, calibrating it in place. The setting holds the stone securely in place. Blind setting also holds the diamond better than other types of setting, such as prongs. But it requires more metal than other types of fasteners.

When setting up a modern blind setting, it is given the shape and size of a precious stone, and then the jewelry is soldered to the metal. The prepared stone is placed in a setting and the metal is pressed against the edge of the stone, locking it in place.

One of the advantages of blind settings over other settings is that the stone is better protected from accidental use or impact, and the diamond is less likely to scratch anything it comes into contact with. Blind hardening is also more reliable, so there is no chance of stone formation. The advantage of the stone is also its suitability; this one will not cling to clothes, because there are smooth edges in fastening.

The advantage of a blind setting is also considered to be the absence of a loss in the cleanliness of the space behind the stone, it is securely closed and there is no accumulation of dirt particles.

The downside of this stone setting can be the discovery that part of the stone remains covered, making it not as shiny and often exposed to light. it is known that when light is detected on granite stones, its fire “lights up”.

Each fastener has its own purpose. Blind setting is used mainly for setting precious stones made of diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds. Synthesized stones have fewer defects, so they are installed in other places. Blind setting is used in gold. However, this type of fastening is used for semi-precious stones in silver products, with garnets, topazes, citrines and others.

Tension Setting

One unusual setting is the tension setting. It includes two pieces of metal with a stone side and a groove set for the stone.

It’s the perfect option to add a personal touch to your pieces, manipulate the tone with happy prongs that hold the stone in place.

This is a more advanced technique. If a stone-sized metal deforms, it can lose tension. It can be added to the risk of stones falling out.

In tension settings, the tension of the metal band locks the diamond in place. As a result, the diamond appears to be suspended between the two sides of the forearm, as in this rose gold setting by James Allen.

Tension Style Setting

Stretch design is a minimalist ring setting in which a diamond or other gemstone appears to be floating in the air within the ring of the ring itself. First developed in the late 1960s, this setting uses specially machined metals that have their inherent “springiness” to hold the ring in place. Instead of crenellations, the entire band of the ring acts as two large crenellations holding the stone in place, usually with small carved niches that fit into the stone’s girdle. With a tensile strength of 65-95 pounds, the stone is held securely in place with a unique floating appearance.

Initially, many couples worry about the safety of tension settings, as the stone is only held in place through two points of contact rather than the more typical four or six with prong settings or even full contact settings such as flush or bezel designs. In reality, however, the stone is held more securely in a stretched position than in a classic crenellated style, because the metal is generally stronger than that used for crenellation, and more metal is in contact with the stone than through narrow crenellations. Therefore providing a tighter and more durable fit.

Channel Settings

In this setting, a row of small stones is set in a channel or groove within the band, so the gemstones are bordered by two bands or rows of metal. Due to the strength of their construction, channel-set stones do not have prongs or bars between them to hold the gems in place. This creates a clean, bright look. There are many varieties of accent stones, but princess-cut stones are most commonly used for channels.

Benefits of an engagement ring with a channel:

Why should you consider an engagement ring with a channel? Two words: maximum brilliance. Accent stones create a great effect. What’s more, you can get more sparkle for less because smaller accent stones are cheaper than a larger center stone. Choosing a channel setting can allow you to save money on a focal stone while ensuring your ring remains a showpiece.

Grooved engagement rings are also easy to clean. Since there are no teeth or rods between the stones, it is more difficult for dirt and germs to get inside. There is no need for aggressive cleaning, and the reliability of the setting ensures that the stones will withstand normal refreshing.

How much do you value your peace of mind? Because channel settings are the safest of pavé strips, you’re less likely to lose your accent stone (and less likely to have to replace them all to make sure they match). So you can be sure that the Channel Set ring is suitable for everyday wear.

Pave setting

Pave setting is a great setting for many types of jewelry, including wedding rings. Tiny gemstones add extra brilliance, power and personality to your piece of jewelry. The guide below will help you figure out if pavé frames are the right choice for you.

The pavé setting comes from the French word for pavement. This type of stone setting involves close-set small diamonds or other gemstones with significant visibility of large metal beads or teeth to give a continuous sparkle effect.

To create a pavé design, jewelry drills holes in metal and inserts gemstones into the holes. They then cheapen beads or prongs around each diamond to secure them in the drilled holes. It is for this reason that a pavé setting can also be called a bead setting.

Gemstones were considered pavé when they were only 0.01 to 0.02 carats in size. If the pavé stones are even smaller, they are called micro-pavé. Pave setting is designed to add sparkle to the overall brilliance of the piece of jewelry. There are several different types of pavé setup.
